Well, as Lauren turned three we finally came to a crossroads.  It was either teach her how to change her own diapers (I’m pretty sure she could do it!) or teach her how to use the toilet.  For some reason Gavin wasn’t even willing to give the first option a chance, so we opted for option #2.  (Besides, kids potty train very young in India and big diapers are hard to come by.)

So we’ve spent the past week in the bathroom… literally.  We’ve kind of set up camp there, so to speak.  There are books, toys, stools, and sometimes even beverages (”for making more pee pee in my tummy,” Lauren says.)

It’s been nice to have Gavin’s assistance (somehow Lauren’s power struggle is only with ME) as he works afternoons and is home all morning.  Lauren is doing really well and enjoying all the benefits that come with being a “big girl” (translation: we are bribing her with candy.  I know, so wrong…)
