Gene and Kim went up to the mountain on Thursday and Quinten and family followed on Friday but we had to wait for Dad to finish his bus route so we did not arrive until Saturday.

Spring has come, finally!  All the trees are out in leaf and the daffodils are gone.  I thought I had better get a few pictures before the tulips fade too.  The first picture is looking into the garden spot.  I planted some tomatoes, chard, peas, lettuce, bush beans and squash.  Nothing has come up yet.  [...]

Cornell Smith died on January 24, 2009 and was buried in Beaver Cemetery.  The following is the eulogy I wrote for his funeral.

Cornell Smith was born in Beaver, Utah August 16, 1922 to Lydia Roper and Edwin Smith.  He was the second of five children.

Thomas turns 11 in a few days.  He had his ‘friends’ party on Friday.  Jen only lets them have a party for friends every other year.  We are heading back down to St George to spend Thanksgiving with my Mom and Dad so Quinten had us over for taco salad and cake on Sunday.
 

Hospice is coming in now.  They have his pain under control but he is so doped up, he has a hard time forming his words.  He arises every morning to take his pills and eat some breakfast then watches TV/sleeps all day in his chair in the living room.  Granma tries to get him to [...]
