The world class Martin Guitar Factory is just less than five minutes from our chapel.  Noticing our chapel grounds needed some weeding I decided to make it a school day covering the subjects of civics and music.  First we headed to the chapel to weed and trim.  Then we headed over to the guitar factory to get a tour.  The tour was fascinating and Walter even made it through without accidentally ruining the guitars in various stages in racks along our route.  This is a working factory tour so you see the guitars being made in all their stages.  The boys loved the robotic polisher and the laser cutter.  By the end of the tour all the children wanted a guitar of their own.   It was pretty awesome and well worth the $0 it cost to go through. To treat their hard work weeding we stopped off at Rita’s on the way home, which was way cheaper than buying them a Martin guitar.
